Kids Win Missouri is a coalition of organizations and individuals dedicated to improving the well-being of Missouri children.
The closures of Citizens for Missouri’s Children in June 2010 and Partnership for Children in 2013 left Missouri’s children without a voice in the state policy arena. A small group of children’s advocacy stakeholders met in late 2013 to examine the landscape and explore options for moving forward to make the concept of a new statewide children’s advocacy organization, the Missouri Children’s Leadership Council, operational. The organization rebranded in 2017, which resulted in a new name for the organization, Kids Win Missouri.
Kids Win Missouri is a coalition of advocates, providers, funders, and business and civic leaders. Since our inception, we have benefited from rapid growth in membership and influence. In 2014, Kids Win Missouri engaged a full-time Director of Policy and Advocacy, Judy Dungan, to serve as its voice in Jefferson City. The organization hired its first executive director, Brian Schmidt, in April of 2017.
To further the well-being of Missouri children through advocacy for policies that support the health, education, safety and development of children and their families, especially those who are at risk because of poverty, abuse, neglect, racial inequities or other risk factors.
That Missouri children have the opportunity to be healthy, happy and successful.
