Parent Spotlight – Jacquelyn is a mom of two and experienced educator!

Jacquelyn Randle is a mom from St. Louis, MO. Jacquelyn’s whole world is kids– splitting her time between being an educator in her profession and a parent at home. As an educator, Jacquelyn knows all too well the importance of quality early education, but she has also experienced the difficulties of finding affordable and accessible childcare slots in her community. Through her work in the field and her dedication to her own kids, Jacquelyn found her voice for advocacy in early childhood, and hopes to be an inspiration to other parents and caregivers. How did you become an advocate for early childhood education?

I have been learning about advocacy and things happening in the area since I started working in the field and learning the ecosystem.

Why do you think it’s important to be an advocate as a parent?

As a parent, oftentimes the parent voice gets left out and family needs aren’t truly addressed.

Why should Missouri invest more in child care and early education?

We know if children have a strong start in early years it can help close gaps academically and in other areas of their lives.

In one sentence, what does the ideal child care and early education system look like for Missouri families?

True partnership; families needs are being met in an equitable way,

What is one thing you’ve learned about advocacy that you’d like to share with others?

Advocacy is showing up and putting action behind our words/desires.
